R has asked the club to pass on his thanks and appreciation to all who helped after today's incident,  especially to Gino for rescuing his bike. I'm sure R will be more than happy to treat all his helpers to a socially distanced coffee when he's sorted out a new front wheel and is next out on the road. The good news is that he has now returned from casualty, no doubt supporting some impressive bruises but with no broken bones. Just for the record, no other vehicles or riders appear to have been involved.

There maybe a guest rider joining today, Alan. He rode with the mediums last week but is probably better-suited to the steady group.

Around thirty of us riding on Saturday in groups for 100 plus and 50 plus miles so not sure how many will venture out tomorrow. For those who are cycling how about a steady ride around S2 - https://www.strava.com/routes/2064915

Suggest we meet with the Melbourn group in the car park of the Tally Ho in Barkway and then sort ourselves into three groups for the ride. For those starting from Royston it's 8am from the Heath Sports Club.

For our first stop I've reserved a couple of tables at Debden Barns. (Unfortunately the Blue Egg doesn't accept bookings so we'll have to take our chances there.)
Based on postings to date we will need both to split the group on the road (so I suggest everyone has the route on their device), and, of course, observe social distancing when we stop. I've made a slight tweak to the route as originally posted and the latest version is here https://ridewithgps.com/routes/33719660 (Apologies if you've downloaded  the previous version.)
Final checklist and we're good to go - energy snacks, plenty of liquids, credit card, face mask, multitool and spare tubes. See you Saturday.

Dave, you should be able to download the route via the link in my original post. If not do let me know.

With a nod to the Tour how about some hills this Sunday and S7, including the Col de Weston. (There's S15 and a similar route for anyone keen to avoid Weston.)

Very happy with a longer ride, we'll need it just to warm up!
