I have managed to crack the rear wheel hub and snap a spoke on my decent (and only) bike. The cost for replacing the hub and having the wheel rebuilt is not cost effective.

I am therefore looking to either buy or borrow a second hand rear wheel that can accommodate an 11 speed Shimano cassette just to get me out on the bike - has anyone got anything?

thanks
Andrew

The weather is not looking great, but hopefully the rain holds off for a ride.

To allow for a tail wind most of the way back, I am planning to ride over to the Datchworth cafe and back. Should be about 38 miles at 16mph leaving the heath at 9am if anyone fancies joining me. Back in Royston for around 11:30.

I am planning to ride tomorrow. How about S3 or even M1.

I may go with the medium or medium fast though. Will see how the back feels in the morning.

I am not coming on the ride tomorrow as I have hurt my back and dont want to risk it getting any worse. Had hoped it would recover in time but sadly not.
Have a great ride!

Good choice of route Jo  -  see you at the heath in the morning.

Went out on my own this week and didn't feel to great; lack of energy etc. If the same happens tomorrow, and I find the pace is too hot, I may drop off and ride back gently.

I'm up for S3 this AM.

Just woke up so will join at the heath or maybe by Royston Station if I run out of time.

It looks like there are two threads for this date/group.

To save anyone looking - there is a handful of people already signed up to do S2 on the other thread. I have suggested coffee at the Bull afterwards.

I'm in !!

I have missed a few weeks; did I read correctly that the 17mph ride now starts at the Town Hall car park in Royston ?

Would be good to go to the Bull for a Coffee afterwards?

Hope to be out in the morning. Please don't wait if I don't turn up.

With very little wind, how about S8 ?? (this route has now been updated to exclude a trip accross a field so you may want to refresh your garmin version before riding it)

Can’t wait - club cycling is back. Count me in!

We have more than the six allowed per group. How about the first six arrive at the heath and the next six meet in the adjacent football pitch car park? That way we can form groups depending on our anticipated speeds?

In terms of route there is going to be a moderate south westerly wind so it would make sense to go in that direction. We could ride down to the Datchworth cafe (we tried it out last week) and then back with a tailwind. Would be around 36 miles. Alternatively S15 with coffee in Baldock is an option?
