Sunday 12th

Hi all, how about S13 for a medium group ride tomorrow?

Re: Sunday 12th

Sounds good to me.
Please everybody make sure you are familiar with the route or have it downloaded. Let's try and keep the groups together this week.

Re: Sunday 12th

Hey that’s a shame, fancied that route as well. How come it’s closed Simon?

Other suggestions anyone?

Re: Sunday 12th

If we still use s13 we could divert to the north of chapel hill from Haslingfield, go through a few extra villages and come back into the route at the west end of the green at Barrington. It would add about 4 miles into the route.

Re: Sunday 12th

Would second Donna's comment. Last week was a bit embarrassing. I found myself in a group with no leader and no-one who knew the route so we sort of made one up. There were 2 new and slower riders who I stayed back with and the front riders including some experienced club members just dissapeared without the wit to stop and regroup despite many opportunities.

The rule is not to leave anyone behind, to be aware when someone drops and to moderate speed to the slowest even if they are in the wrong group. This is especially important when new people come along.

Re: Sunday 12th

As last week - unfortunately I'll have to finish early as I have work starting at midday.
So I shall be "disappearing" during the ride.
As JohnB mentioned, last week was a little embarrassing  as we didn't have a route planned and it was difficult to judge  when / were , to disappear  https://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons3/ermm.png
 .
See you all soon.

Re: Sunday 12th

Yes I agree with all of above, perhaps a different route needs suggesting for this morning?

Re: Sunday 12th

How about S14? Essentially the same route but missing out the Comberton loop. To avoid Chapel Hill we ride through Haslingfield to Harston, use the A10 cycle path to Foxton and re-join the route at Barrington as Andrew suggested.

Re: Sunday 12th

Modified S14 good with me. Although it goes through Melbourn I’ll meet in Royston as I want the extra miles and Dawn will be coming for the easy going ride.

Ah seen, that looks good, thanks for your local knowledge Richard.

Re: Sunday 12th

Perhaps the fast group can do M8 and come back through Orwell instead of Haslingfield to avoid Chapel Hill.

Re: Sunday 12th

I don't think we yet have a ride leader for the easygoing. Volunteer?
