Hunstanton Ride Sat 14th September

All,

At the start of a Sunday ride a couple of weeks back, there was talk about a Saturday special out to Hunstanton for the day.  Ride out in the morning.  Arrive for tea (fish&chips, etc) and then back to Kings Lynn to catch the train home.

I've not seen any follow-up on this either on here or on emails from the committee, so was wondering if this was actually going to happen?

Tip: I'd be up for it.  Make my first 100miler for the year...

Re: Hunstanton Ride Sat 14th September

Hi Adrian

I haven’t heard anything other than our quick chat last Sunday. But I’ll be up for it unless the weather is rubbish.

Thanks

David

Re: Hunstanton Ride Sat 14th September

Hello All,
I think it was myself that mentioned this at the time. I was originally looking at the 14th of Sept but due to a possible commitment i may have to change this to the Saturday prior, 7th of Sept. I would be looking at a possible early start, 07:45 from Melbourn. It would follow the RCC route bank route to Kings Lynn, with a stop for comfort and a coffee break in Ely, the Cathedral, roughly about 10am and then ride to KL for about 12:30. Potential for another coffee break here on the quayside then ride to Hunstanton for fish and chips. We would then ride back to KL to catch the train back to Cambridge. For those that want to continue on to Royston or home stations the feel free or you can top up the miles cycling from Cambridge to home.
This is all weather dependant.......and we do have to be aware that there is only one train per hour from Kings Lynn to Cambridge, leaving at 44 pass the hour.

Re: Hunstanton Ride Sat 14th September

I would love to do this but will rightly struggle to get a pass on the 7th as I am away on business the week before. If anyone does the ride on the 14th please let me know.

Hi,

Sorry, can’t do the 7th, I can only make it out for the 14th.

Re: Hunstanton Ride Sat 14th September

After talking to Rob I believe the plan now is to do a ride to the Blue Egg on the 7th.
We could still possibly do the Hunstanton trip on the 14th if there’s enough interest and reasonable weather.

Re: Hunstanton Ride Sat 14th September

I might well be up for a Blue Egg run on 7th - probably worth creating a separate forum entry.

Ok. I guess I need a roll call of who would still be interested in a run to Hunstanton in 14th. Is there enough to make a go of it?

Brilliant! Thanks for all the confirmations so far. Weather permitting, it should be on.
