Two specials to choose from this month, a 78 mile round trip to a new destination (La Hogue) or a 43 mile ride to an old favourite (Clavering Lakes)
La Hogue Route's here https://www.strava.com/routes/14250841 and info about the cafe here https://www.lahogue.co.uk/farm-cafe/ It's a longer route but suitable for all riders who are comfortable with an average of 15 mph. As usual it's an 8am start from Mica.
Clavering Lakes Route's here https://www.strava.com/routes/9340878 and cafe info here https://clavering-lakes.co.uk/the-lodge/ The pace is likely to be closer to the medium rares' club rides so 13-14 mph average.
As the lodge at Clavering Lakes opens at 11am the suggested start time from Mica for this ride is 9am
Do post if you're likely to ride (or have questions) as it's always helpful to have some idea of numbers.

Thanks Richard - unfortunately with later start for Clavering that will be tricky for me on Saturday as need to be back c midday. Will see how weather pans out for Sunday....hope you all have fun.

Thanks Richard, I would prefer an 8.00 am start but as Clavering Lakes Cafe doesn't open until 11.00 am this may not work very well.
Lorna, We could start at 8.00 am and go somewhere else for coffee. There is no shorter route to La Hogue than one Richard is using.

How about Hopleys for the shorter ride? They open at 9am so an 8am start is not a problem. Route's here
https://www.strava.com/routes/9367419 and their website here https://www.copleysfood.co.uk/cafes/copleys-at-hopleys However, it's the members' ride so do post if you have suggestions/preferences.

Thanks Richard, This sounds rather more appetising. How does this sound to you Lorna? This could also be shortened if you need to get back and MarkD could maybe ride from his home meet us there.

Thanks John - unfortunately I now need to hang around Autoglass for a few hours on Saturday morning so will need to skip this one. Have fun and hope some of you are out Sunday :-)

It is also worth noting that last time we went to Clavering Lakes, the service wasn’t good. The welcome was also very absent. If that’s the planned ride I would suggest calling to warn them. Maybe they will appreciate it and be more friendly.

John, if we go to Copleys, I can meet you there or maybe on route

I’m up for another Saturday ride this weekend as I can’t ride Sunday again. Either looks good, but Copley’s route is just tipping in front for me at the moment.
Adrian.

Either is fine for me (altho best chance of a
from clavering lakes would be to tell them we are not coming!)

So seems likely we'll have two rides out, one for La Hogue and one for Hopleys/Copleys. (I'm for La Hogue). Any more takers?

Paul & I are planning to join the La Hogue ride

Adrian, If your still up for a Hopley Copley Saturday we could use C6-47 and meet MarkD in there at 9.30 ish. If your looking to do some more miles, suggest you could accompany MardD and ride home to Royston via the Stansted area.
MarkD, If your still on for this on Saturday, I'll see you in there about 9.30 ish.
