Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

Well done RCC- good turnout yesterday. Hope you all had a good ride. I found it hard work but exhilarating to ride what felt like a massive flat out RCC club ride that lasted 80 miles.

Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

We had talked about submitting an RCC results piece for the Crow. If people want to PM me with their times and any other details (picture?) I'll pull something together. 'Fraid time is tight. For this week's Crow the deadline is tomorrow pm.

Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

Well done to everyone from the RCC on Sunday, was really good to see so many of our shirts at the event, shame they have to have long, windy, boring fen roads though!! http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/shocked.png

Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

I make it that we had 17 club members riding the Gran Fondo http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png

Early bird entries now open for 2017, first 2000 entrants get entry at 2016 prices....

Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

I finished in 4hr 41. Came unstuck in the Fens, having gone a bit quick to start with and skimping on the food and drink ( got a bit carried away with the excitement). Didn't make UCI, but quicker than last year.  Oh we'll always next year, better start saving.

Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

Maybe everyone should bring medals down on Sunday for photo and aim for next week's crow. Only missed UCi by 20secs. feel better in a gutted kind of way. Looks like lots made it. Barry, Salvo, Vid, Bob,John and Darren. Sorry if I missed anyone. Let us know.
Think we were more like 18 or 19 riders.

Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

My time was 4:04 but the text saying I'd qualified for 2016 World's didn't arrive until I was on my way home so missed getting the UCI medal.
Fancy missing by 20 secs - that's tough Donna. If only you'd known that with a few miles to go!

Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

Blimey! So this Sunday we can have one group made up entirely of qualifiers for the World's with Donna as a very honorary member.

Yes, let's aim for next week's Crow. Sounds like there is a great story to tell.

Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

My time was 4hrs 21mins, had to stop at the middle feed station though as I was completely out of juice as had to bail my brother out. I've stupidly entered myself into the Newmarket Hilly 100 with work this weekend but the weather is looking awful so I may be down the club instead...

Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

WooHoo, I qualified too http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png
. 4hr01, but didn't get the confirmation text http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/depressed.png

Bob, send them an email, apparenetly lots of people didn't get their medals on the day.

I know the medal collection was a shambles last year, but I'm not convinced that their new solution has worked any better....

Re: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo 5 June 2016

Well done everyone! Anyone actually going to go....i'm not?? I had to request my medal last year via post, so you may be able to do the same this year.......http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png
