Replacing wheel bearings

Hi all,

My bike is out of action, the wheel has a lot of play in it and is making a horrible noise.

The bearings look to be replaceable, from a quick webserch.

Has anyone used someone local to do this? The shop in Saffron W? Or Royston Cycles?

Thanks for the advice.

James

Re: Replacing wheel bearings

I've heard Newdales in SW are good.  I use Trax in Buntingford (bottom of High St) for maintenance/repairs - very efficient and reasonably priced.

Can also recommend Trax based on my experience

Re: Replacing wheel bearings

I used newdales recently, very pleased with service.  Not used Trax.

Re: Replacing wheel bearings

I visited Trax in Buntingford this Monday with a friend who needed quite a difficult and technical job done in a really smart 1990s Colanago. John in Trax could not have been more diligent and his charge for this work was very reasonable. I've used John before for a replacement wheel bearing and can really recommend him. Good luck.
