Coronavirus - a message from the club

I'm sure you are all aware of the latest government guidance on Coronavirus, including social distancing measures to help protect vulnerable individuals and slow the spread of the virus.  The measures include avoiding pubs, restaurants and social  gatherings, and so impact most of our normal activities.

In the light of this, and following the lead of British Cycling and others we feel we need to suspend all club rides for the moment. The planned maintenance evening is now postponed and for now the Thursday spin classes are also suspended.

The government recognises being fit and healthy is an important deterrent to the risk of any infection in the first place, so hopefully we will all get out for solo rides.

Many of you will be working from home and finding normal routines disrupted.  Outdoor activities and exercise may assist with this, so please do make use of the forum to offer support to each other.  You may not be the only one going stir-crazy.

As noted, the government guidance is rapidly changing and if  advice emerges that cycling in small groups is a low risk activity then we will of course review the club's position.

Meanwhile stay safe.
